Phyllis has been a recording and concert artist, writes and arranges original songs, has written four children’s musical dramas and is well known for her books of Christian fiction.
She loves to share stories at the kitchen table over a good cup of tea. She is a Southern fiction writer who grew up in the deep shade of magnolia trees in Cairo, Georgia. Now lives in the Texas Hill Country where red birds and axis deer are her ever-ravenous neighbors. There’s nothing about writing that she doesn’t enjoy—the creative thinking to develop a story, the research that leads to new places and new ideas, the unexpected ways that characters develop at times, the rewrites, and even enjoys the edits. She prefers to write in solitude, but always with a desire to connect to the reader.
She has worked with and learned fascinating stories of individuals with disabilities.
